“It’s Monday! What are you reading?” is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at Bookjourney to share with others what we’ve read the past week and planning to read next
Is there such a thing as pregnancy brain fog? I’ve been feeling like I’m in a constant daze this past week. Which means that more serious books seem to take me far longer to read, and I’m veering towards lighter fare. Mysteries, graphic novels. I’m on the lookout for funny books too. Any recommendations?
Of course books are due back at the library soon so I’ve got some heavier fare among the current reads too. But this haze is making me sleepy…
It’s taking me longer than expected to read this. It’s a little tedious!
Thirty Three Teeth (Dr Siri Paiboun #2) – Colin Cotterill
I just jumped into this library e-book last night and am enjoying myself with all the sarcasm.
Beautiful Ruins – Jess Walter
For an upcoming book tour.
Last week I read:
The best exotic Marigold Hotel – Deborah Moggach
I can’t help but keep remarking on how different this was from the movie. It just seemed more real somehow.
The red badge of courage – Stephen Crane
A classic? I suppose. But it was pretty hard to read…
Gold Boy, Emerald Girl – Li Yiyun
Great writing. A little depressing. Perhaps my favourite of the short stories was the last one.
Industrial magic (Women of the Otherworld #4) – Kelley Armstrong
A fun read, but I think I preferred when the focus was on Elena and the werewolves, instead of Paige.
Last week I reviewed:
Apparently only one book!
Sky Burial – Xinran
