“It’s Monday! What are you reading?” is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at Bookjourney to share with others what we’ve read the past week and planning to read next.
Currently(-ish…)
Reading:
Fire from heaven – Mary Renault
I kind of love this historical fiction on the life of Alexander the Great, but it is a little heavy and it has quite a few characters that I keep losing track of since I seem to pick it up only every other day – and then just read a few pages… must step it up!!)
The Headmaster’s wager – Vincent Lam
(Ugh one of those women from the back covers!)
Eating:
Carrot cake! It was my mother-in-law’s birthday yesterday and we had a lovely cake from our favourite local bakery.
Drinking:
Listening:
The Bird and the bee – Interpreting The Masters, Volume 1: A Tribute To Daryl Hall And John Oates
Last week
I read:
Crazy Rich Asians – Kevin Kwan (review to come)
Disco for the departed (Dr Siri Paiboun #3) – Colin Cotterill
The bones of Paris (Harris Stuyvesant #2) – Laurie R. Kong (for an upcoming book tour)
I wrote:
Five Star Billionaire – Tash Aw
The Orphan Master’s Son – Adam Johnson
Weekend Cooking: Sonoma County
What are you reading today?

I’ve got a library hold on Crazy Rich Asians so look forward to hearing what you thought of it! Right now, I’m reading (and absolutely loving) Under Heaven by Guy Gavriel Kay.

Yum. Now you’ve got me craving carrot cake! 🙂
It’s so hard when a story has a ton of characters. Sometimes I feel like I need a chart to keep track of them all!
