It’s Monday! What are you reading? (September 9 2013)

itsmonday“It’s Monday! What are you reading?” is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at Bookjourney to share with others what we’ve read the past week and planning to read next.

Whee! We survived the first two days of preschool (Wee Reader is attending school 3 mornings a week for now). He takes a long time to warm up to anything new so it took a lot of coaxing just to get him up to the classroom door. He didn’t cry the first day, but he did the second, for a little bit. But was his usual self at home after!

Currently(-ish…)

Reading:

cuttingseason

The Cutting Season – Attica Locke

For an upcoming book tour

earthmankind

This Earth of Mankind – Pramoedya Ananta Toer

I loved his Girl from the Coast and am enjoying this so far.

heartshapedbox

Heart Shaped Box – Joe Hill

I made the mistake of reading a little of this at 4am a few days ago (the baby unfortunately was going through his fourth month growth spurt/sleep regression, and was back to his 4 am feeds!) and it creeped me out to no end. I am now only reading this book in broad daylight thank you very much!

Eating:

Watching:

Erm, Chopped! Again! It’s nice to have it on the iPad in the background while typing this post. Uni! Fruit cocktail! Corn nuts! Black garlic! I wouldn’t have the faintest idea what to do with all that!

Last week:

I read:

auntylee

Aunty Lee’s Delights: A Singaporean Mystery – Ovidia Yu

gravetalent

  1. Oooh, Heart-Shaped Box freaked me out, too. Definitely a daylight kind of book. And CHOPPED! I love that show. I don’t have network or dish TV any longer, but I need to check out the website or something and see what I can do. 🙂
