It’s Monday! What are you reading? (March 3 2014)

itsmonday“It’s Monday! What are you reading?” is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at Bookjourney to share with others what we’ve read the past week and planning to read next.

Oh wow… March already huh.

The longest way home : one man’s quest for the courage to settle down – Andrew McCarthy

Yup still reading this one.

The song of the lark – Willa Cather

A Specialty’s chocolate chip cookie.

For dinner later, japchae or Korean stir-fried sweet potato noodles (as in the noodles are made from sweet potato starch) and have this glass noodle look. Great with plenty of vegetables (we’ll do carrots, caixin and shiitake mushrooms), and some thinly sliced marinated pork.

Top Gear.

Looking forward to:

More rain this week?

Last week:

I read:

Zahrah the Windseeker – Nnedi Okorafor-Mbachu

samedifferenceSame Difference – Derek Kirk Kim

I really liked this one. And will write about it in my next graphic novel roundup.

nylonroadNylon Road – Parsua Bashi

A rather unique perspective. Will discuss more later.

I posted:
Weekend Cooking: Wontons

Graphic novels month: Emiko Superstar; Sunny 1; Sloth; Hilda and the Bird Parade

Links for a rainy Wednesday

Wee Reader Recommends: Maxilla by Lianne Ong

  1. Japchae looks good!! I’m so glad that I can’t gain weight looking at all the yummy food you make. 🙂 Today I’m trying to finish up Thomas King’s The Truth About Stories (nonfiction).

  2. I just got a copy of Zahrah myself: it looks good! This week I’m reading the last bits of a whole bunch of things; funny how it seems to go in stages sometimes in that way.
