It’s Monday and I’m #reading Cinder

itsmonday“It’s Monday! What are you reading?” is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at Bookjourney to share with others what we’ve read the past week and planning to read next.

Good morning! It’s 640 am on Monday as I begin writing this. Just had breakfast with the husband, who’s popped off to work (he takes the Bart into the city). The house is all quiet but not for long so I better write this quick!

Happy all the time – Laurie Colwin

Interesting so far

Cinder – Marissa Meyer

How I’m loving this! Great characters. And such an interesting take on the fairy tale.

To play the fool (Kate Martinelli #2) – Laurie R King

King is always a great read, whether it’s her Sherlock/Mary Russell series or this one set in the Bay Area

I just ate a couple of slices of Pugliese bread with some burrata that I sprinkled with a some sea salt and drizzled with olive oil.

Haven’t quite figured out what’s for dinner tonight. Perhaps some pork chops, battered with panko and parmesan and panfried. Served with sweet potato mash and the lovely asparagus I picked up from the farmers market yesterday.

I’m rewatching Orange is the New Black in order to watch the new season. Ok so I could’ve just gone ahead and watched the new season but I felt like rewatching Season 1!

Sugar by Swedish band The Shout Out Louds

Last week I read:
Sisterland – Curtis Sittenfeld

The year she left us – Kathryn Ma

(Both books I really enjoyed, and will be posting about soon! Stay tuned!)

What are you reading this week?

  1. We’re having pork chops tonight and now I want to do the same thing! I need to buy some asparagus. Yay for liking Cinder. It’s a good book. Orange is the New Black is fantastic! I’m trying not to binge watch the second season like I did the first one. Enjoy your day!

  2. Never heard of them before but those Shout Out Louds are good, aren’t they? They have a lovely summery sound about them. The guitar riffs remind me of Hibou.
