Black Water Rising – Attica Locke
Intriguing so far.
Fortunately, the Milk – Neil Gaiman

Eating:
Nian gao panfried with egg. Sticky and sweet!
Drinking:
Tea to wash down the stickiness
Cooking:
Kongbah – braised pork usually served with steamed buns
Stirfried rice noodles with sliced beef and broccoli
Claypot rice served with stir fried Asian veg.

I’m not a big Harry Potter fan but I adore this themed quilt featured on Bookriot!
Cathy at 746 Books talks about Once, that little shot-in-Dublin over 17 days for £75,000 movie that grossed $20 million worldwide.
Need something to perk up your Monday? Check out these two Swedish TV chefs as they celebrate cheese doodles day. Cheese Doodles Day?? Just watching her ‘fry’ the cheese doodles makes me smile. But wait for it!
Also, plenty of predictions for the Bailey’s Women’s Prize for Fiction long list. Here from Nomad Reader, Farm Lane Books
Last week:
I read:
Pardonable Lies (Maisie Dobbs #3) – Jacqueline Winspear
Tina’s Mouth: An Existential Comic Diary – Keshni Kashyap, Mari Araki (Illustrator)
Code Name Verity – Elizabeth Wein
Mary Poppins – P.L. Travers

I love Attica Locke! Read The Cutting Season and Black Water Rising last fall, and loved them both! The Cutting Season was my favorite, but really enjoyed Black Water Rising as well. I hear she has a new book featuring Jay coming out next month…and this makes me very happy. 🙂 Have a great week!!!
