Whee! We have had a gloriously rainy weekend! February was ridiculously dry so it was so good to hear the rain (and some really gusty winds) splattering on the windows again. But that also meant that the kids were kind of cooped up indoors for most of the weekend. And it didn’t help that the husband had to work (from home but still). So by Saturday evening I was going a bit crazy myself and decided some emergency brownies were in order. The kind that you whip up real quick (zap butter and chocolate in microwave, add eggs, vanilla, salt, flour, stir, pour into pan and bake) then stuff in the fridge for a nice cold slice of brownie to drink with some Pinot noir while watching a trashy show (in my case, Greys Anatomy).

Those brownies have a beautiful crust on them. I love sprouts, I wish my family did too.

Risotto! I am so impressed! I do not think I could ever achieve a successful risotto, as I lack patience and kitchen skills. Yours looks delicious.
