I’ve been concentrating on writing up my A to Z challenge posts this past week and not reading as much. It’s good in a way, as I get to stretch my creative muscle (which has not been in much use) and also read up on Singapore’s food!

I’m also pretty excited to share with you my article up on Shiny New Books! I wrote about Southeast Asian literature.

 

Also last week, a wander upstairs at the library where the non-fiction is and I discovered that the comics and graphic novels have bee reshelved to a bigger area instead of being squeezed in a few shelves in a corner.

And my m-i-l has been cooking Singapore food like Kong bah bao (braised pork belly in a steamed bun) and Mee rebus which is a noodle dish with spicy gravy, served with hard boiled eggs, tofu, coriander and bean sprouts. Yum!

And yesterday, we went into San Francisco to the Cal Academy (we’re members but my in-laws haven’t been before). The academy opens an hour earlier on Sundays just for members. Perfect for a drizzly day. 

The husband decided to take everyone down Lombard Street. It was my first time there!

Tsuguru green tea or an apple green tea from Lupicia. Quite refreshing! It’s part of that big ‘Lucky bag’ box of Lupicia teas I bought in January.

Cooking:

Hopefully oxtail stew. I love oxtail but the husband doesn’t so I have to wait for other oxtail-stew-lovers before getting to buy some and cook it.

Baked black cod but with what I don’t know.
