Ten Books That Will Make You Laugh (or at least chuckle)
Modern Romance – Aziz Ansari
Ok so even if you have no idea who Aziz Ansari is, or care, this is still a great book. It explores romance today, that is, dating. And somehow Ansari manages to make it fun and funny, while also bringing in academic research (that is, research done by academics) and focus group interviews that he and his co-writer did. But wait, what’s the funny part? Well, Ansari himself is funny, and that is best
seen heard in the audiobook version which he reads. He uses asides that aren’t in the printed copy, he uses accents and different voices to portray the different people he interviewed. It never failed to make me laugh out loud as I listened while on my walks.
Faith, Vol 1: Hollywood & Vine (Faith #1-4) – Jody Houser (Goodreads Author) (Writer), Francis Portela (Artist), Marguerite Sauvage (Artist) etc
Because Faith is funny and such fun. It’s entertaining and especially geeky. I can’t wait for more.
The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye – Sonny Liew
Because Sonny Liew has written this marvelous amazing graphic novel that offers alternate histories, and a different side to Singapore. Brilliant!
This topic makes me realize that I don’t often read funny books. So that’s all the funny books I can think of right now!
So please recommend me some funny books!!
I don’t read many funny books either. Or maybe my sense of humor doesn’t go well with books that are generally thought funny. So, sorry, I don’t have any recommendations for you.
I would have had a hard time coming up with 10, too! That isn’t to say I never read them… Just nothing that stands out, I guess.
