Readathon October 2016

End of Event Survey

Which hour was most daunting for you?

I took it all pretty easy so the hardest part was probably waking up before 6 for the start time.

Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?

Giant Days, Rat Queens, Saga!

Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next season?

You guys always do an awesome job!

What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon?

I was mostly on Litsy and Instagram this time so I liked how things went over there.

How many books did you read?

What were the names of the books you read?

Giant Days Vol 1, Rat Queens Vol 3, Shadowshaper

Which book did you enjoy most?

Giant Days

Which did you enjoy least?

Rat Queens – but only because the different illustration style threw me off at first

How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time?

Hour 0 – Opening Meme
Happy readathon day!
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

The San Francisco Bay Area. It is 5 am and I am possibly not awake yet. Or I may be awake but reading in bed, trying not to wake the husband (who has been sick), and hoping the boys don’t get up so early!

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

Giant Days! And erm well all these lovely e-books.

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I love chocolate and was pleased to find that Costco has this box of Neuhaus chocolates! It’s probably meant to be given as a Christmas gift (as it’s got a fancy Christmassy red box) but nope, this is just all for me. Except the white chocolate. That is not for me as I prefer dark chocolate.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
This is my 6th readathon and I still have no idea what to say here. So for something different, how about this…
I do most of my reading at night when my kids go to bed at 830.
Oh and earlier this year, I changed my blog name from Olduvai Reads (which I had for ages – long story) to Real Life Reading.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
One thing I’m doing different is posting on Litsy! I’m a bit of a Litsy addict so I post far more there than I do here these days….

  1. I’ve totally bought “Christmas box” chocolates for myself many times (happily sharing them with Mister BIP but that’s all). Sounds like you had a great RAT (even with actual RAT – queen – reading too: perfect!) and I wish I’d been joining you!
