A Month of Faves is hosted by Andi, Tanya and Tamara
This Is How We Read – eg. Number of books read so far, genre you read the most from, picture of favorite (or most often used) reading location, most read author, % eBooks, hardcovers, paperbacks and/or audiobooks, hint at what your favorite read of the year is (let us guess), types of books you wish you read more of, month you read the most and least)
Early this year I set myself a goal on Goodreads to read 200 books and I have read 221 so far. (Last year I read 291 books). Do note that this number does include a lot of comics, which tend to be fast reads! This year, so far I have read 116 comics/graphic novels (!!), although this doesn’t include my current reread of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series.
- 121 library books, of which 49 were e-books
- 84 e-books and audiobooks from Scribd (I gave up Scribd a few months ago)
- 131 new-to-me and debut authors! For e.g. Naomi Munaweera, Tana French, Hwang Sok-yong, Renee Ahdieh, Sara Novice, Elizabeth Mckenzie, Yaa Gyasi, many of whom were debut authors
- 27 non-fiction
- 5 short stories
- 29 works in translation, from a variety of languages like Spanish, Korean, French, Dutch, Chinese and Japanese
I always find these statistics so fascinating. You read a lot of new authors this year!

I always say I’m going to keep better track of what types of books I read or do better categorizing my reads, and I always lose interest before long. So I l really ove seeing the lists of people who do keep track.

My favorite number in here is how many new-to-you authors you read!

I’m always so interested when bloggers share these sorts of stats! I’ve been a lazy reader the last few years with most of my attention being spent on professional courses but you’ve reminded me how much I want to get back to reading books in translation.

131 new to you/debut authors? That is awesome! And you read non-fiction. I try, but it always makes me sleepy.

I tend to only read certain types of non fiction and definitely not those more serious ones!
