A Month of Faves is hosted by Andi, Tanya and Tamara
Favorite Book to Movie or TV Shows
what were your faves; did you both watch the movie and read the book; which was better?
This was a surprisingly hard question for me to answer!
The first one I thought of was The Martian. The book was for me, an ok read. The plot was great but the writing wasn’t. And it just dragged on and on. But the movie just compressed everything into a very watchable 141 minutes. Matt Damon was a great choice as an actor.
And…. that’s pretty much all I could think of, in terms of book to TV/movie that I watched this year! Perhaps I need to start keeping track of movie and TV watching…
It was difficult for me too because I am not really a movie person, but I found two that were both popular book wise and movie wise.
I hope you are enjoying your week and the fun of A MONTH OF FAVES. I am enjoying it.
Nice blog. I haven’t visited in a while. Going to make sure I am subscribed.

I enjoyed “The Martian” too but never read the book. For today’s topic, I thought of one right away then a few more came to mind but only after I googled books to movies. https://kimhaas.wordpress.com/2016/12/08/amonthoffaves2016-favorite-book-to-movie-or-tv-shows/

I still haven’t read The Martian or watched the movie – but it’s on my todo list. This was a hard topic for me too!

I’m still mad at myself that I haven’t seen Arrival yet! It’s a short story to movie adaptation, but I hear absolutely wonderful things about the story in both formats. Gotta get on this!

I’ve tried to keep logs of TV and movies in the past and they always faltered because I was torn between the online/print thing (because I was often using the device I would log it on while I was watching, and then the moment would be lost); that’s one of my resolutions for this year, to try something new to keep that list for the year(s) ahead, as with books. Like you, I preferred the film to the book in this case, which hardly ever happens (but I can also see why others would have preferred the book).
