It’s Monday

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date

Lots happened last weekend. It was Readathon weekend and it was such fun. I started out strong in the morning but we went out for lunch and did some window shopping and well, I ended up finishing just three comics. Still it was a good day. We took my in-laws out for a nice izakaya meal.

And on Sunday we all got up early and sent my father-in-law to the airport. Then went for a browse at Books Inc and an early lunch at Gott’s.

Currently…

We just had lunch at Gott’s Roadside in Palo Alto. I split mahimahi tacos and a kimchi burger with the husband. The kids had hotdogs and we shared some sweet potato fries and a root beer float. My kids have never really had soda, so when the 4yo had a sip of the root beer float he made a disgusted face and hurriedly drank his milk instead! 😛

  1. Y’know, I’m still watching the GG because you nudged me into it, and now I’m on episode 21 of season one (you warned me the first season wasn’t necessarily a hook) and there ARE more books in the show now, but not as many as I’m craving (fortunately I also enjoy coffee and there is more of that). But her friendship with Lane remains a big draw, so I’m persisting. Are you watching straight through again, or do you just pick randomly?

    1. I think that the Lane-Rory friendship was a HUGE draw for me – back when it was released 2000 to 2007 there were far fewer Asian faces on American TV and I loved that Lane was this rocker girl defying her strict mum!

I’m watching it straight through again and am currently on Season 4. She’s bookish yes but books don’t always come up. I like the small town charm, the quirky characters, the fun dialogue. Season 7 though (when the creators left) was just so wrong…
