Top Ten Series I’ve Been Meaning To Start But Haven’t
I started with a few in mind then looked up some lists on Goodreads for more. And there are just so very many series out there that I want to read! Let me know which you’ve read and enjoyed.
Game of Thrones by George R R Martin
Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson
The Fionavar Tapestry by Guy Gavriel Kay (I’ve loved some of his standalones!)
The Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix (haven’t read anything by Nix before!)
The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb (haven’t read anything by Hobb before!)
Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs (another new-to-me author)
The Others by Anne Bishop (new-to-me author)
Darkest Powers by Kelley Armstrong
Cainsville by Kelley Armstrong (I love her Women of the Otherworld series but haven’t read her other books)
I’ve heard a lot of people love the Maas and Clare series, but I haven’t read either of them yet. These Top Ten Tuesday lists really make me feel the whole “too many books, too little time” thing!

I love the Game of Thrones eries, but it’s uneven. One book will be great, the next – just so-so. I think the tv series is just as good (and in some cases – better) than the books.

I love the Mercy Thompson series and the spin off series Alpha and Omega. The GOT series is pretty daunting. Im on book 2 but tend to only read a couple chapters here and there.

I tried Mistborn because I’ve heard a lot of good things about it, but I couldn’t get past the first few chapters 😐

Most of these are on my TBR list or my Maaaaybe list already, but I can attest to the amazing-ness that is Fionavar, beginning with The Summer Tree. I just reread the first one not long ago and it is all that I remembered it being. Just wicked good. And a million times more complicated and soulful than GRR Martin (although I didn’t read past volume four), at least to my reading taste. I’ll be curious to see which ones you dive into!

Look, I mean — I’ve read those Cassandra Clare books, the first one at least, and you are totally fine without reading them. Your life is good without them. :p

The Farseer Trilogy is amazing. It tests our patience. But it is beautiful.
