It’s Monday and it’s hopefully a better week

Ugh I was hit with some kind of cold bug again last week. It just seems to be a winter of colds and coughs over here. I’m so grateful that the husband was able to work from home for a bit as I really was unable to drive the kids to school that day – the cold just made me very whoozy and I didn’t want to risk driving. That was also the day I binge-watched the last season of Terrace House: Opening New Doors. Oh man was that dramatic or what!! (There was off-camera conspiring, and a sock saga!) Also there was a hint of a new season in Tokyo! Can’t wait. Do you watch Terrace House?

Lunch at Dish Dash. I had a craving for baba ghanoush!

I tried making dorayaki or Japanese red bean pancake for the first time.

The Queue – Basma Abdel Aziz

Watching:

Finally finished The Big Family Cooking Showdown season two and I have a lot of things to say about it. So I’ll maybe actually write a post for the weekend!

Eating:

We were in San Jose and picked up some mochi – the cube at the bottom left is mango. The pinkish one is white bean inside. There was also green tea. And the rest were red bean paste.

Drinking:

Water

Cooking:

Maybe Japanese curry again. The kids have been asking for it!

And I’ve been wanting some kind of soup. I made tomato soup last week but am trying to make something else. Any suggestions?

Last week:

I read:

Every Heart a Doorway – Seanan McGuire
Sweet Bean Paste – Durian Sukegawa
At Dusk – Hwang Sok-Yong
The Fated Sky – Mary Robinette Kowal

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date

  1. I like mochi. There was a Chinese grad student at work who would bring it back to us whenever she went to the International Market. I hope you feel better. Cold season wasn’t bad here, but allergy season is in full swing – I want to put my eyeballs in a glass of water. lol. See what I read (plus there’s a giveaway) at Girl Who Reads
