#BookBeginnings #Friday56 – Three Women by Lisa Taddeo

You get ready that morning like someone preparing for war. Your war paint is makeup. A neutral, smoky eye. A heavy lash. Dark rose blush, and a nude lip. Your hair is loosely curled and huge.

On April 13 some people’s mothers died, some people’s children ran away from home, some people moved to another continent to start a new life. For Lina, April 13 marks the day when she felt loved. When she took possession of everything she wanted and when she, in turn, was possessed by the universe.

Fridays are for Book Beginnings on Rose City Reader, Friday 56 on Freda’s Voice
