It’s the last few days of September! And we finally had some autumnal weather this weekend. It’s amazing how the temperature can change in just a few days. It was shorts and slippers out for the first few days of the week but when it came to Friday afternoon, I was wishing I had my jacket as I shivered in the blasting wind at the playground after school.
And with the weather cool enough I finally felt like doing some baking again. The result was two walnut loaves, a cheesy garlicky tear and share, and some pesto cheese rolls.
Some new books that came in over the past couple of weeks!

Do you make all your bread by hand or in a machine? I love making my own but it can be a bit awkward time wise because you have to be in the house to attend to it….

For this one I made it by hand. Some breads I mix in the machine but finish shaping it by hand

I really liked The Hunger. I love the turn in the weather — I too have been baking bread, now that I don’t mind turning on the oven.

It’s a really good read! What kind of bread have you been making?

My friend gave me a recipe for honey and carrot and thyme loaf. As she is recovering from an op, I made some for her but afterwards thought it would have been much improved with nuts and raisins. Walnuts would have been nice.

Your bread always looks incredible. Did it taste as preposterously delicious as those pictures make it look?
