It’s Monday and it’s April

Hello and it’s April.

We are healthy and we are ok, and for now that’s all that matters. Mental health-wise though, I could be better. As I sit and type this, I realise that my body is very tense, my mouth is making this pursed motion, my shoulders are far from relaxed. I take a deep breath and try to relax a bit but I feel like this is my position these days.

I’ve been trying to be better at reading the news a bit less often, and instead when I find myself opening Safari on the phone and thumbing through my news bookmarks, I try to put it down and reach for a book instead.

I’ve also been trying to distract myself a bit more (when I’m done with the kids and their schoolwork and the household many things and whatnots that need to be done) with my crocheting, also baking a variety of things, and reading of course.

Crocheting-wise, I’ve got several projects started as usual (Five Star Beanie   and a Kalinda wrap) but I have also recently finished…

A Jolteon!

And a Mew

Also some things eaten this week:

Can you tell that I love cilantro? Do you?

Making more tangzhong bread

Ordered Korean fried chicken takeout

Well this counts as a Math lesson, doesn’t it?

Let me know how you have been doing? What are some ways you’ve been working off your anxiety?

Currently…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date

  1. Hi! I don’t think we’ve “met” before – just browsing through some of the link-up posts! Looks like we have a lot in common!

Love your Pokemon!! So cute! My sons loved Pokemon when they were little (now in their early 20’s). Actually, my son and his roommate (they are still in their off-campus apartment) got so bored last week that he came home to grab his Yu-Gi-Oh cards!

Your take-out looks SO amazing!! I haven’t had much fried food in about 3 weeks, though we did get some take-out fries last week.

I thought I had read Darius the Great is Not OK, but it’s not listed on my blog – I think I have the audiobook. Will have to get to that one!

We are also loving Picard – just recently (before the pandemic) joined CBS All Access and are enjoying both Star Trek shows very much (and The Good Fight, too).

Nice to “meet” you! Glad you and your family are safe & healthy. Enjoy your books this week –

    1. Hi Sue
So sorry to approve your comment so late…I only realised that WordPress had labeled it Spam!

We are very lucky to have some great eateries nearby!

Nice to meet you too! I’m off to check out your latest post!

  2. I love all your photos! We’ve been watching Picard too, and before that, we watched Star Trek Discovery. Before the stay-at-home orders, we would only watch one or two episodes of TV a week. That has certainly changed! I’m still struggling to read more and go on social media less.

    1. Isn’t it hard to stay away? It’s an addiction for me. It’s like I can’t stop scrolling through all the news sites and social media, even though a lot of them are saying the same things. Yay! A fellow cilantro lover!

  3. Your little creatures are so, SO cute, I love them!!

What am I doing for my anxiety, oh God, I wish I had a better answer for this. I have been feeling this, just, ever-heightening sense of guilt about everything I do lately, and it has been very hard to shake off. Definitely exercise helps! Setting myself tasks and then doing the tasks helps. Coffee. Romance novels. That’s about it. 😛
