This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is:
Resolutions/Hopes for 2021 (bookish or not!)
My hopes for the year are that my family and friends continue to stay healthy and safe. And that we will be able to visit Singapore to see our families!
In terms of reading, I want to continue to read diversely. By that, I mean, to read more:
- books in translation
- books by authors from different countries, not just the US
- books by minority writers
- more non-fiction
- hopefully at least six works of classic literature (works published at least 50 years ago).

Great list! I need to work on getting my TBR down (theres definitely some that’s been there for more than two year! Oops.) and good luck with reading more diversly! I certainly hope that you and yours all stay healthy and safe! I find books in translation difficult – it needs to be a great book, AND a great translator! A difficult combo. I’d love to know what you’d suggest. These are my bookish New Year Resolutions, and some that I know I could not achieve!

I hope things open back up soon for safe travel. I’m worried about the U.K. trip we’ve planned for the summer. I hope you make it to Singapore this year!

I’ve been doing pretty well with more diverse reading over the past few years, but there’s always room for improvement. I definitely don’t read enough books in translation or nonfiction. Good luck with your hopes and goals!
