Classics With Great Covers #TopTenTuesday

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is:

It’s a freebie week. So I thought of this one…

Classics With Great Covers

So here’s a list of books that are at least 50 years old (at least I hope so). And with covers that have been redone to suit the newer, more modern look.

Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome
Dune by Frank Herbert.
Love the colours!
Emma – Jane Austen

I love these Penguin Threads covers.

1984 – George Orwell
Moby Dick – Herman Melville
Anne of Green Gables – L.M. Montgomery (these are by Rifle Paper Co)
Hamlet – William Shakespeare (part of the Pelican Shakespeare)
The Birds – Daphne Du Maurier (Virago Modern Classics Designer Collection)
Orlando – Virginia Woolf (Vintage Classics Woolf Series)
Cat’s Cradle – Kurt Vonnegut (Intriguing minimalist covers!)

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.

  1. I don’t pay much attention to covers, but these do look nice! I’ve read several of these, but so long ago I should read them again!

  2. I was thinking it was going to be old fashioned style paintings before I opened the post. Which it often is with classics. I was OK at art but not at all with design, I find it amazing when people can have that sort of precise vision as you have to with beautiful graphics.
