Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Sharlene from Real Life Reading that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries.
Happy Library Loot Day!
What did you get from your library this week? Link-up above or in the comments below!
What I got from the library this week:
I’m still reading for AAPI month and found a list of recommendations on Instagram for Pacific Islander writers and borrowed a couple of books.

Summer of Sloane – Erin L. Schneider
A YA book set in Hawaii and written by a native Hawaiian.

Turtle Under Ice – Juleah del Rosario
A novel-in-verse by a Filipino-Chamorro writer about a sister who goes missing.

I am so intrigued by all of the YA novels in verse out there these days! I don’t remember there being any when I was younger but it’s the perfect pairing: what literary teen wouldn’t want to read something in verse, and be both swept along by a story and feel super intellectual because it’s in verse? Can’t lose 🙂
